BECK KITSIS is a writer, director, and producer focused on developing emotionally-charged social impact stories. Selected as a 2019 Sundance Screenwriters Intensive Fellow and a member of Film at Lincoln Center’s Artist Academy at the 2019 New York Film Festival, Beck is currently co-writing and producing STRAWBERRY SUMMER, which has received support from the Sundance Institute, Cinereach, and Ruth Ann Harnisch. She is also developing ROUTE ONE, a psychological thriller about an incel (involuntary celibate), which will mark her feature directorial debut. As a director and editor, Beck has worked across short film and music video content. Beck is currently in pre-production on the short film THE THREE MEN YOU MEET AT NIGHT, and her music video for her band SIGNAL premiered on NYLON in November 2018.

She recently produced THE RAT (dir. Carlen May-Mann, 2019 Sundance Film Festival), as well as Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Martha Shane’s upcoming feature documentary NARROWSBURG (2019 Camden International Film Festival, DOC NYC), and a short 16mm film entitled THE INCONCEIVABLE MOUNTAIN (dir. Daniel Witkin, post-production).

In addition to producing, Beck worked with Susan Norget to open THE LOOK OF SILENCE (2015), CLOUDS OF SILS MARIA (2015), and WHAT HAPPENED, MISS SIMONE? (2015) to critical acclaim. Her marketing work at Sony Pictures Classics culminated in award-winning campaigns for SON OF SAUL (2015), TONI ERDMANN (2016), ELLE (2016), CALL ME BY YOUR NAME (2017), and A FANTASTIC WOMAN (2017).

Beck graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Wesleyan University with a B.A. in Film Studies and East Asian Studies: Chinese Language, Literature, and Film.
